This work is a collaborative effort between the surgical staff at Children s Hospital and the medical staff at Boston Children s Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Brigham and Women s Hospital, and hospitals further afield. Children s Hospital receives infants who require surgery and complex postoperative surgical care from local newborn nurseries, our associated Special Care Nurseries, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and Brigham and Women s Hospital, as well as from other referring hospitals across the country and around the world. The contributing authors reflect this web of community and tertiary hospitals.
In this third edition, we have added several new chapters and have updated all existing chapters, adding illustrations to clarify the written descriptions.
